Cat® Simulators Collaborative Worksite Training™ Package Teaches Operators How to Work Together

Heavy equipment operator programs can take their training to the next level with the Cat® Simulators Collaborative Worksite Training™ package, where up to nine learners can work together simultaneously in the same virtual environment operating Dozers, Excavators and Articulated Trucks. This real-life, hands-on experience helps prepare learners to work together as a team, loading trucks, moving materials, cleaning up spoil piles and accomplishing other tasks together.

Learners gain a better understanding of how their movements affect other operators and the overall worksite production level. Instructors can track their progress with the individual reporting feature, create custom worksite scenarios with multiple learners and simulate a jobsite with multiple moving parts.

The Spotlight 2024, Issue 1

In this year’s first issue of our digital digest, we’re excited to share two client success stories: Collins Career Technical Center in Chesapeake, Ohio, and the Lowell Correctional Center in Ocala, Fla. Both have been making significant progress in training students to operate heavy equipment using our Cat® Simulators systems. We’re truly inspired by their dedication and success.

This issue also includes two Articulated Truck infographics: Operator Safety Tips and Maintenance Tips for Maximum Uptime, which are designed to help remind operators how to operate Articulated Trucks properly and safely.

Lastly, we share more information on the launch of our new and improved SimScholars™ Curriculum online Learning Management System (LMS), which is a perfect match with Cat Simulators exercises. Learners are finding it’s even more engaging with improvements such as animated graphics, clickable interactions and added videos. We hope you enjoy this issue:

Georgia’s Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program Continues to Grow and Change Trajectories of High School Students’ Lives

Heavy equipment operator (HEO) high school teachers from 25 Georgia high schools recently participated in a three-day training event in Marietta, Ga. The teachers are part of the successful Georgia HEO Pathway Program, which began in 2021 with six pilot schools and has now grown to include 25 schools, each of which has Cat® Simulators Dozer and Excavator systems in its HEO classroom.

The teachers left the training enthusiastic about using Cat Simulators systems and corresponding turn-key SimScholars™ curriculums to positively impact their students’ lives and possibly change their trajectory in life.

“One of the great things about this program that inspires us, as industry people, educators, and everyone involved, is the reality that by connecting students with careers in our industry, it’s going to launch students out of generational poverty,” explained Jeremy Whitaker, Director of Training & Recruitment at C.W. Mathews Contracting Company, who helped develop the Georgia HEO Pathway program and organized the training event.
