Why did you choose to work at Simformotion?
I chose to work at Simformotion after moving from Chicago to Peoria because I wanted to change my career and get a couple IT certifications. Simformotion was a great match because of my years in a support role.
What is your role and what are your responsibilities?
My role is Installer/Trainer/Level II Support. These roles involve me traveling the country to our customers’ facilities or schools and installing our simulators. Then training the trainer on how they can best use the simulators. I also help Level 1 with support.
What are some of your professional goals (and personal if you’d like to include them 😊)?
Some of my professional goals now are getting my Network+ and Security+ certifications along with a few Microsoft certifications. My personal goals are to establish food gardens in areas that are food deserts and to find ways to use technology to help people gain or find accessible, useful skills.
Tell us about your professional experience.
I was an assistant production warehouse manager for six years while doing support for two years. I was also a bartender for six years!
What have your years of professional experience taught you?
My professional experience taught me to be adaptable, solution-based and responsive. Also, not to react through stress.
What has been your biggest accomplishment professionally or in life?
My biggest accomplishment in life has been helping rebuild houses after Hurricane Katrina.
Do you have a favorite quote? If so, what is it?
“Do not pray for an easy life. Pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.”
