Simformotion Spotlight – Sami Sarraf

Why did you choose to work at Simformotion?

I’ve been involved with simulators since 2006 and have always been fascinated by them. I love what they do and how they train operators. Being in the technology field too, I enjoy the integration of simulation, control systems, and all the hardware and software working together. I enjoy working at Simformotion because I’ve always loved the product and the people.

What’s your job title, role and responsibilities?

My title is Product Support and Quality Specialist Lead. I’m also the Level 2 Support Team Lead. So, my time is spent leading the L2 support team, traveling across the country (and internationally) to customer sites to install simulators and train staff, and doing the same virtually from the office. I also assist the sales coordinators in establishing and updating processes and maintaining documentation.

Tell us about your professional experience.

Since I was young, I’ve enjoyed working in the service industry because my parents owned different food establishments, where I liked working with and talking to people. I have a background in IT and enjoy teaching others about things I’m passionate about. That’s why I like training people face-to-face and even virtually. Training others can be challenging because you’re working with individuals from different backgrounds and age groups. But I approach it by telling them what I think works best, letting them build on that, then grow on their own and expand on it.

Favorite part of your job?

I love our products and what they do. I get to meet people from all around the globe, and learn a little bit about what they’re about, what they’re doing and how they’re adding value to their industries.

What career/life advice would you give someone?

Simformotion has 10 values. I’m a believer in them. I think some of the most important things in life, as well as professionally, are just being an open listener and being truthful about what you do.

What’s been your biggest accomplishment in life?

My biggest accomplishment is my family. My wife and I are raising our three kids, who are 19, 16 and 14. It’s kind of a big deal. 😊

What’s your favorite quote?

“Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.”
