Why did you choose to work at Simformotion?
Simformotion actually chose me! I was the receptionist at CSE Software when the Logistics/Inventory position became available. I had inventory experience from my last job, so they must have seen potential in me being able to take over that position.
What’s your job title, role and responsibilities?
My current job title is Logistics Coordinator. I handle all shipping needs for Simformotion. I am also the Rental / Demo Coordinator. With the help of my teammate, I test and prepare the rental/demo units for customers and the sales team to demonstrate. I also set up the Live Stream room for customer visits. I am the ITI guru. I fulfill all ITI orders and test their hardware, including laptops, headsets, and motion bases, before shipping. I still help another teammate with any inventory needs he may have, such as physical inventory counts.
Favorite part of your job?
I love the people I work with. The production team feels like a family, and I am so happy to be part of it. I also enjoy the rental/demo setup and testing. It’s very fulfilling to set up the simulators for the sales team’s demonstrations.
How do you/your team help our clients’ training programs succeed?
Smooth logistics = a smoother learning experience. My team prevents disruptions to our clients’ training and ensures training aligns with the delivery schedule by shipping tested, updated equipment and identifying issues early. Most important to me is that I keep customers from feeling “handed off.”
What career/life advice would you give someone?
I would give them a few pieces of advice:
- Balance beats extremes
- Work hard, but don’t neglect your health.
- Chase goals, but don’t lose your life doing it.
- A good life comes from balance across health, relationships and purpose.
